Alright, I did not like The Last Jedi at all. The movie just took too long and seemed really stupid to me. It added new things that just seemed wrong. The First Order not being able to attack the resistance was stupid, Admiral Holdo not telling Poe the plan was annoying and Princess Leia using the force to not die in space ruined the movie for me. There was just so much wrong with this movie to me and I fell asleep trying to watch it a second time. I just couldn’t get into it. I really hope the next movie is better, but back to the topic. I knew there was no way Carrie Fisher wouldn’t be in the next Star Wars. I personally think that they should have allowed her to die instead of her using the force to live. I have a lot of respect for Fisher and I was super sad when she passed away, but I just feel like bringing her back is unnecessary and they should have let her die in The Last Jedi.
I don’t think this is a good look for the Star Wars crew. Fisher has undoubtedly been one of the most influential Star Wars characters ever. After her death, it just seemed like her Star Wars appearances would be finished. They should have given her a respectable death in The Last Jedi. With Luke and Han Solo dead it just seemed inevitable that Leia would be as well. J.J Abrams said they would use unused footage for Fisher, but even with that it just seems wrong. I hope Fisher is given a proper send off in the new movie. If Star Wars messes this up it could hurt the whole franchise.
