I Think All Young MLB Players Should Delete and Restart Their Twitter

Alright, I think everything that Josh Hader, and the newest member of the bad twitter club, Sean Newcomb, said in past tweets are terrible. Both have been caught with racial and homophobic tweets that they wrote when they were teenagers. This is so stupid. I don’t understand how even a teenager think that these types of tweets are appropriate.

I don’t know why someone would write this. I think we are getting to a point where the excuse that “I was young and dumb,” isn’t going to fly anymore. Kids do dumb shit, but this is just plain fucked up. Just a bonehead decision. I hope that people start realizing that they should check their old tweets and probably just delete the whole thing.

Sean Newcomb was a nobody until he almost pitched a no-hitter. Once people knew the name they started searching twitter. The same happened to Hader during the MLB All Star game. Accomplishments that those players should have been celebrating after, but instead they had to answer questions about their tweets from years ago. There are no free passes anymore and if your name is somehow in the spotlight, your old tweets are not safe.

Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are a huge part of young players lives. They have grown up on social media and when they are young they post stupid things. If I had posted anything like these guy my mom would have kicked my ass. I’m younger than these guys and I know that you should never post shit like that. The media is always looking for athletes to mess up. Players now have to be cautious with what they post. Hopefully these incidents have helped these players learn that intolerance like this shouldn’t happen.

Moral of the story don’t post stupid shit on twitter and to be safe you should probably just restart all your social media. Like the great Shania Twain once said “Don’t be stupid.”

  1. Why doesn’t the stupid rule on Twitter apply to Donald Trump then?
